Hello
I'm Nushin Nahidpour, a London-based artist and designer.
My work explores the invisible ways in which experiences continue to live within us.
A scent, a place, a fragment of language, an object or a fleeting encounter can leave an imprint that remains long after the moment itself has passed. I am interested in these traces: the emotional and psychological residues that quietly shape our relationship with memory, identity and belonging.
As someone who has lived between cultures, I am particularly drawn to what is lost, altered or carried across distance. Rather than attempting to reconstruct the past as it was, I create new visual forms through which its presence can be felt again. Many of my works begin with an absence, a fragment or a memory and evolve into acts of rediscovery and renewal.
I am equally fascinated by forms of beauty that often go unnoticed. Whether found in personal histories, everyday rituals or the hidden structures of the natural world, I seek moments of harmony, wonder and connection in places where they are least expected.
Underlying much of my practice is a search for continuity in a world that can often feel fractured and unsettled. Faced with distance, loss and the increasingly polarised nature of contemporary life, I find myself drawn towards those experiences that deepen our sense of connection to one another and to the world around us. Through image-making, I explore spaces where memory, beauty and imagination remain active forces rather than retreats from reality.
